SMARTPLY SITEPROTECT SELECTED FOR THREE NEW HEALTHCARE PROJECTS IN IRELAND

SmartPly SiteProtect, the durable coated OSB panel specifically for site hoarding and security applications, has been specified as site hoarding for three current healthcare developments in Ireland.

BAM Contractors is delivering a new nursing home site in the grounds of Tipperary General Hospital and a new emergency department at Kerry General Hospital, and Clancy Construction Ltd. is responsible for a new emergency department and a new intensive and special care baby unit at Waterford Regional Hospital.

Developed specifically for use in a breadth of applications from temporary site hoarding through to a range of security installations, SmartPly SiteProtect uses a SmartPly OSB3 substrate coated with a smooth heavy-duty exterior cross-linked polymer surface treatment which is pre-coated for a smooth, durable finish with no need to prime. As with many contractors in the UK, Ireland and on the continent who maintain sustainability and environmental policies and responsibilities for their clients, BAM Contractors and Clancy Construction both turned to Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified and locally sourced and manufactured SmartPly SiteProtect for the site hoarding for all three healthcare projects. Manufactured in Waterford, SmartPly Europe is part of Coillte Panel Products, a division of the Irish forestry and forest products company, Coillte.

In keeping with current construction methods working towards healthier environments, SmartPly SiteProtect is manufactured using zero-added formaldehyde, and the coating is 'zero voc' (volatile organic compounds), which means that it is inert and doesn't emit any harmful compounds, making it ideal for internal and external applications.
