SmartPly’s OSB (oriented strand board) coated product SiteProtect, has added to its list of applications and range of uses: the construction of advertising billboards. Leading Dutch timber and building products supplier Jongeneel in Breda, enjoyed a first in delivering FSC certified SiteProtect for a large-format billboard structure on which the new “De Keizer” apartment complex, to be built near Rotterdam, is impressively presented.
SiteProtect, durable pre-coated OSB, was developed by SmartPly specifically for use in a breadth of applications from temporary site hoarding through to a range of security installations. Coated with a smooth heavy-duty exterior cross-linked polymer surface treatment, SiteProtect has already proved a success in United Kingdom and Ireland, and expectations are that Europe will follow.
Construction projects, particularly those in town and city centres, often disturb the appearance of the surrounding areas. Hoarding which is of poor quality can attract graffiti and fly posters. SmartPly Europe, the Irish producer of oriented strand board (OSB), introduced SiteProtect for quality, durable and safe building site hoarding and whose design meets the requirements for the external appearance of buildings under construction.
The coating offers an excellent surface for artwork or the application of advertisements and company logos. The substrate of SiteProtect - SmartPly OSB3 - is a totally natural product produced without added formaldehyde. The water-based coating contains no volatile organic compounds, making the panel suitable for both exterior and interior application.
SmartPly SiteProtect is supplied in standard dimensions of 2440 mm x 1220 mm x 18 mm for interior and exterior use. SmartPly OSB is part of the panel products division of Coillte, the Irish forestry and forest products company.
