SmartPly OSB Commissions new board marking system
The Irish-based high quality Oriented Strand Board manufacturer, SmartPly, installed an
advanced board marking system to their main production line in April. Although relatively
new, this technology already has an established and excellent reputation across Europe for
print quality and reliability.
The system provides prominent board marking and was chosen after thorough and careful
consideration of all requirements and available options.
The new board markings now include the SmartPly and FSC Brands in large type, improved
print clarity of vital technical information as well as key tracking details for quality control,
right down to the precise time of production.
Neil Foot, managing director of SmartPly, says: "Costing approximately €100,000, the new
improved board marking on our OSB panels will take our branding and product identification
into the 21st century. The clear identification of each board we produce will be a real benefit
to the entire supply-chain - from the specifier right through to the client who uses our
product."
